Is a Website Worth The Investment

July 6th, 2012 by

In a word, yes, an efficiently and effectively developed website is very much worth the investment it requires. That is not to say all websites on the internet generate billions of dollars in revenue, but even the most basic company websites can be credited with generating sales. While a simple single “landing” page may direct potential customers to your location by way of an address, a well thought out and developed website can reign in the casual surfer who would have simply bypassed a single page site. Creating a mixture of logic and creativity within your website will keep your audience interested and help you generate solid leads.

Why does my business need a website?

A well thought out and designed website design displays your company’s professionalism to anyone who visits your site. In this day and age, if you don’t have a website many customers won’t take you seriously. If you’re not marketing your business online, you’re basically throwing away money by passing up potential customers. A professional website design shows your customers and potential customers that you are serious about your business.

Customers associate the professionalism of your website with the overall professionalism of your company.

But… my business is too small to need a website, isn’t it?

If you have no intention of ever growing your business, then yes your business is too small to need a website. If you, like the other 99.9% of business owners, are looking for ways to grow your business, a website will provide you with a powerful marketing tool. Unlike traditional marketing outlets such as print, television, or radio, a website is an “always-on” method of marketing. Using your website in conjunction with social marketing through social-media websites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn will only compound the visibility of your company.

As with anything worthy of investment, those who reap the largest benefit from their investment are those who are diligent in the development of their idea.
